IntroductionWe are excited to welcome you to the 30th annual San Diego International Triathlon. This race is one of the longest standing triathlons in the country and hopefully a favorite. There are two courses to choose from an international course and a sprint course, which ever you choose you’re guaranteed a great ride. Both races take place at the Spanish landing Park located on Harbor Drive across from the San Diego International Airport. This event has said to be simple, competitive and scenic; fun for you, your family and your friends. We look forward to providing you a safe and challenging event. Register now; this race will sell out at least one month prior to race weekend.

Pre-Race Check In
All athletes must attend the mandatory race check-in to pick up their race materials. It is mandatory for all athletes to bring their ID to the pre-race expo. We will not give any athlete their bib number without an ID. Please plan accordingly.
Athletes will sign the race
waiver and pick up their
timing chip, race numbers, swim cap and t-shirt. If you are not able to
attend the expo, please select Personal Best Option, VIP Option or
Mailback Option. Athletes who do not attend the expo or select on of these options will be required to pay a $10 late fee on race morning.
Overnight Bike Racking
For the 2012 San Diego International Triathlon- only specific age groups will be allowed to pre-rack their bikes on Saturday for overnight bike racking. These groups will be designated 10 days prior to the event and will be posted on our website and final confirmation email.

Saturday, June 23, 2012 - Expo and Packet Pickup
10:00 am – 3:00 pm: Mandatory Pre-Race Check In at Spanish Landing Park
10:30 am – 3:30 pm: Bike Drop at Spanish Landing Park
Sunday, June 24, 2012 - Race Day
5:15 am: Parking Lot Opens
5:45 am: Transition Area Opens / Body Marking Starts / Late Pick-up Opens
6:30 am: Competitors to Swim Staging Area for Final Race Instructions
6:35 am: INTL- PRO Wave Starts
6:40 am- 7:40 am: INTL- Age Group Wave Starts
7:40 am: Sprint- Wave Starts
8:00 am: Swim Course Closes
8:00 am: Bus Shuttles to Finish at Seaport Village Commence
9:30 am: Bike Course Closes
10:30 am: Awards Presentation (approximate time)
11:00 am: Run Course Closes
11:50 am: Last Bus Shuttle from the Finish to Spanish Landing Park
12:00 pm: Transition Area Closed, All Bikes Must be Removed
Mail Back Option
Coming in from out of town or can’t make it to check in on Saturday? For a fee of $15 - Receive your race materials, EXCEPT FOR YOUR TIMING CHIP AND T-SHIRT, in the mail at least 5 days prior to the race. You DO NOT need to attend the pre-race check-in. Your timing chip will be available for you at the VIP booth on race morning. You will need to return a signed waiver by mail and pick up your T-shirt at the finish line. Entries must be received by April 15th. NO EXCEPTIONS!
VIP Option
For a fee of $30 - your race numbers, swim cap, goodie-bag and t-shirt will be ready for your pick-up on race morning. Pre-race check in is not mandatory, you will check-in on race morning at the VIP check-in table. You will sign a waiver and pick up your race materials. VIP athletes have reserved bike racks with their names in the transition area.
