IntroductionWe are excited to welcome you to the 31st annual San Diego International Triathlon. This race is one of the longest standing triathlons in the country and hopefully a favorite. There are two courses to choose from an international course and a sprint course, which ever you choose you’re guaranteed a great ride. Both races take place at the Spanish landing Park located on Harbor Drive across from the San Diego International Airport. This event has said to be simple, competitive and scenic; fun for you, your family and your friends. We look forward to providing you a safe and challenging event. Register now; this race will sell out at least one month prior to race weekend.

Pre-Race Check In
San Diego International 2013 Pre-Race Check In/ Expo
Where: Spanish Landing Park
When: Saturday, June 29th, 10:00 am -3:00 pm
Pre-Race Check in Policies: All athletes must attend the mandatory race check-in to pick up their race materials. It is mandatory for all athletes to bring their ID to the pre-race expo. We will not give any athlete their bib number without an ID. Friends and family members will not be allowed to pick up for participants. No exceptions, please plan accordingly.
If you are not able to attend the expo, please select Personal Best Option, VIP Option or Mailback Option. Athletes who do not attend the expo or select one of these options will be required to pay a $10 late fee on race morning.

Overnight Bike Racking
For the 2013 San Diego International Triathlon- only males doing the international distance will be allowed to pre-rack their bikes on Saturday for overnight bike racking.

10:00 am – 3:00 pm: Mandatory Pre-Race Check In at Spanish Landing Park
10:30 am – 3:30 pm: Bike Drop at Spanish Landing Park
Sunday, June 30, 2013 - Race Day
5:15 am: Parking Lot Opens
5:45 am: Transition Area Opens / Body Marking Starts / Late Pick-up Opens
6:30 am: Competitors to Swim Staging Area for Final Race Instructions
6:35 am: INTL- PRO Wave Starts
6:40 am- 7:40 am: INTL- Age Group Wave Starts
7:40 am: Sprint- Wave Starts
8:00 am: Swim Course Closes
8:00 am: Bus Shuttles to Finish at Seaport Village Commence
9:30 am: Bike Course Closes
10:30 am: Awards Presentation (approximate time)
11:00 am: Run Course Closes
11:50 am: Last Bus Shuttle from the Finish to Spanish Landing Park
12:00 pm: Transition Area Closed, All Bikes Must be Removed
Mail Back Option
Coming in from out of town or can’t make it to check in on Saturday? For a fee of $15 - Receive your race materials, except your timing chip and tech tee,in the mail at least 5 days prior to the race. You DO NOT need to attend the pre-race check-in. Your timing chip will be available for you at the VIP booth on race morning and you will pick up your T-shirt at the finish line. Pick-up is from 5:00 am-6:30 am. You will then continue on to the transition zone to be body marked. Please plan your time accordingly. Entries must be received by June 17th. NO EXCEPTIONS!
VIP Option
For a fee of $30 - your race numbers, swim cap, timing chip, and t-shirt will be ready for your pick-up on race morning. Pre-race check in is not mandatory, you will check-in on race morning at the VIP check-in table. Pick-up is from 5:40 am-6:40 am. You will then continue on to the transition zone to be body marked. Please plan your time accordingly. VIP athletes have reserved bike racks with their names in the transition area. Entries must be received by June 17th. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Bike Rentals
Nytro is offering a tune-up special at the pre-race expo on Saturday, June 29th, 2013 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Register online before the expo receive a discounted $20 price. At the expo, the special tune-ups will be available for $25 on a first-come first-served basis; subject to availability.
The tune-up will include: lube and adjust drive train, adjust front and rear brakes, adjust headset, adjust bottom bracket if needed, tighten skewers and bolts if needed, inspect tires and tire pressure, and if during the inspection parts are found that need to be replaced, all new parts will be discounted 10% off the regular retail price! (subject to parts availability).

The race can be altered, postponed or cancelled with no refunds due to weather, natural disturbances, police activity, acts of terrorism and threats of terrorism.
